EthicalMedTech is a platform, supported by MedTech Europe,<\/a>\u00a0dedicated to ethics and compliance projects in the MedTech industry.<\/p>\n

e4ethics is a platform designed by the European Federation of Pharmaceuticals Industries and Associations (EFPIA)<\/a>, dedicated to the provisions of the EFPIA Code of Practice.<\/p>\n

Since 1st January 2021, the two trade associations, MedTech Europe and EFPIA, have a unique and common platform assessing Third-Party Organised Educational Events (TPOEs) – Conference Vetting System (CVS)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What is the MedTech Europe Code?
\n<\/strong>Important updates about the Code of Ethics\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

A code for more transparency, effective 1st January 2018<\/em><\/p>\n

The MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice regulates all aspects of the industry’s relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Healthcare Organisations (HCOs).<\/p>\n

One important change introduced by the Code as of 1 January 2018 is discontinuation of direct sponsorship of HCPs. As of that date, independent medical education has to be supported exclusively by means of Educational Grants. Such\u00a0Educational Grants can be provided to HCOs and PCOs.<\/p>\n

What does this mean for the support of ECIM 2022?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Educational Participation Grants
\n<\/strong>As a trusted partner, Kenes Group will take on the responsibility for indirect sponsorship for ECIM 2022. The industry will entrust the Kenes Group and provide educational grants directly, and Kenes Group\/ECIM will be responsible for participants (HCPs) pre-selection.<\/p>\n

Educational Participation Grants of any amount are appreciated and important to the success of ECIM 2022. Recipients (HCPs) will need to fulfil the criteria specified by ECIM in order to be eligible to apply for an educational participation grant. Accepted grant recipients will be contacted by the ECIM Secretariat.<\/p>\n
