Recently, media reports and scientific publications have started highlighting the long-term sequalae of COVID-19 infections. A wide variety of persistent symptoms such as respiratory distress, cough and fever, loss of smell and taste, muscle and joint pain, fatigue and weakness have been reported in COVID-19 infection survivors [1,2].
