Welcome to the Autumn 2019 issue of the European Federation of Internal Medicine Newsletter.
I would like to thank you all for your active participation at the EFIM General Assembly that was held in conjunction with the 18th European Congress of Internal Medicine, ECIM, held in Lisbon from 29 – 31 August.
Thanks to the hard and creative work of ECIM 2019 President, Dr. Luis Campos, the congress was a great success with more than 2000 participants and a scientific programme where the topics and the speakers fully met the expectations.

We had several successful events behinds us and we are working intensively on the preparations for the following European Congress of Internal Medicine in Lisbon from 29 to 31 August.
EFIM continues to develop new projects and activities and I’m proud to say that we have several accomplishments to celebrate, thanks to the tireless efforts of our Executive committee members, Young Internists and all the actively involved EFIM member societies. 

Welcome to the 17th edition of EFIM Newsletter

Another succesful EFIM Day was held at the EFIM Headquarters in Brussels on 15 March, bringing together around 80 participants who took active part in the discussions about current and future EFIM projects, exchanging ideas and networking. A special focus was given on the topic of Physicians' Burnout presented by Dr. Maria Panagioti from the Manchester University.  The session has been recorded and it's available on our website.

As 2018 is drawing to an end, it's time to reflect on a very good year for EFIM that has just passed by. The success of EFIM is built on the efforts and the hard work of all the EFIM members societies, EFIM Executive Committee, EFIM Young Internists, EFIM Secretariat and all the societies’ representatives involved in every single EFIM projects and in this past year, we have enjoyed many accomplishments.

I would like to thank all the members of the EFIM national societies who joined us in Wiesbaden during the European Congress of Internal Medicine.

EFIM represents a network, overcoming the limits of the European borders, in which the cooperation and confrontation among each country, works to provide new tools for education, formation and investigation in the field of internal medicine.
