IgA nephropathy (Berger's disease) is the most common glomerular disease worldwide and often diagnosed in young adults, [1] with a heavy social and economic burden on our society [2,3]. It demonstrates a variety of clinical courses and contributes towards chronic kidney disease and kidney failure as well [4]. Approximately 20–40% of patients with IgA nephropathy would develop end stage renal disease (ESRD) over a 20-year period after diagnosis [5,6].
