We would like to extend another warm welcome to everyone and invite you to join the EFIM on-line community. This is EFIM's 9th Newsletter issue that continues to bring you updates and information on recent EFIM activities and links to some important aspects of the site. Many things are happening at EFIM. The European curriculum of Internal Medicine has been approved by all national societies and is now under review at the UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists). The first impression that we got were very positive. Furthermore, we hosted a well attended meeting at our office in Brussels where we started discussions about launching a European Version of Choosing Wisely; a lot of work has already been done in many countries and it was impressive to learn from each other.
Preparations are well on the way for the European Congress of Internal Medicine in Amsterdam in September www.efim2016.org. You will find more information about EFIM activities in this newsletter.
I look forward to an exciting event in Amsterdam to discuss about increasing the quality of the care for our patients, to renew old friendships and create new ones.
