We read with great interest your editorial [1]. We have appreciated the question you raised. In our opinion, one of the possible causes of this trouble is the lack of awareness and knowledge of Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) principles and methods. Moreover, this knowledge black hole that somehow appears incredible since a long time from the first declaration of EBM [2] regards even today Italian physicians and nurses. For this reason, it is not surprising that healthcare policymakers ignore this item as well.
