Dear Colleagues,

As we approach the end of the autumn,  I am delighted to share some important updates and exciting plans of EFIM in our Autumn Newsletter.

First, I am thrilled to remind you of the upcoming European Congress of Internal Medicine (ECIM 2025), which will take place in Florence, Italy, from 5–8 March 2025 and at the same time pleased to announce that the scientific programme has now been published on ourcongress website, offering a glimpse into the outstanding sessions and expert speakers we have selected.
Moreover, we are proud to share that we have received more than 2,000 abstract submissions for ECIM 2025. This overwhelming response underscores the importance of the congress as a platform for scientific exchange and collaboration.
Don't forget to register to the ECIM 2025 and join the remarkable gathering of minds, with a focus on cutting-edge developments in internal medicine.

Reflecting on our recent activities, we were quite busy in the past few months with several initiatives, the 9th EFIM Day, held on 18 October 2024 in Brussels was a great success. This year, we focused on the crucial topic of postgraduate education in internal medicine, engaging in productive discussions that highlighted the need for harmonized and innovative approaches across Europe.
Looking ahead, we have announced the upcoming General Assembly and the election of two new Executive Committee Officers. I urge all national societies to actively participate in the nomination and election process. Your voices are essential to ensuring EFIM’s continued success.
In addition, we have opened the Call of interest for hosting the next Winter School for the years 2026, 2027, and 2028. The Winter School has become a cornerstone of EFIM’s educational initiatives, and I am excited about the opportunity to extend its impact even further.

We are developing new ideas to expand and enhance EFIM Academy projects to better serve the professional development of internists across Europe.
We look forward to welcoming new members to EFIM during the General Assembly at ECIM 2025 in Florence, further strengthening our community.
Efforts are underway to establish an impact factor for the European Journal of Case Reports in Internal Medicine (ECJRIM) and to further improve the quality and reach of the European Journal of Internal Medicine (EJIM).

I encourage all of you to stay connected, contribute your ideas, and join us in these upcoming milestones.

Thank you for your continued dedication and support. I look forward to seeing many of you at ECIM 2025 in Florence!
