As we approach the end of the year, I would like to extend warm greetings to all our national societies and their members. On behalf of EFIM, I wish you a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy, and successful New Year.
Looking back over the past year, EFIM has continued to advance its mission of supporting internal medicine across Europe through a wide range of initiatives. Among our key achievements was the successful delivery of ECIM 2025 in Florence, which welcomed a record number of attendees. We also continued to deliver the EFIM Winter and Summer Schools, providing high-quality education to young internists from our member societies, and further expanded the EFIM Exchange Programme, enabling residents to gain experience in different healthcare systems.
In addition, we strengthened and expanded the EFIM Fellowship network.
Furthermore, EFIM has reinforced its collaborations with member societies and partners across Europe and globally and successfully secured discounted access to AMBOSS and UpToDate for all members of EFIM national societies.
Our Working Groups have made significant progress in their respective fields, working on educational resources, and collaborative projects that benefit internists across Europe.
We are also pleased to announce new collaborations with the European Health Alliance for Internal Medicine (EHAA), the European Society of Cardiology Council on Stroke, and closer engagement with the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and the HTA Stakeholder network. These partnerships help EFIM ensure that the perspectives and priorities of internists are represented in European policy and decision-making.
At the same time, new projects are being prepared in the research field, and the Executive Committee is actively working on launching new initiatives for the future, including preparations for the 2026 and 2027 congresses.
Finally, I would like to remind you of the upcoming 24th European Congress of Internal Medicine (ECIM 2026) in Vienna, from 25–28 March 2026, which will mark the 30th anniversary of EFIM’s establishment.
We look forward to welcoming you for a memorable congress filled with scientific exchange, networking, and celebration of our shared achievements.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement with EFIM.
On behalf of the entire EFIM Executive Committee, I wish you and your colleagues a peaceful holiday season and a happy, healthy, and successful New Year.

Prof. George Dalekos
President, EFIM
