Dear EFIM Members and Partners, Dear Friends,
As we are stepping in the spirit of spring, I am honored to extend warm greetings to each of you and to reflect on the recent accomplishments we achieved in the past months.
I am excited to share the tremendous success of the European Congress of Internal Medicine (ECIM) 2024, which took place in the fascinating city of Istanbul from 6 – 9 March welcoming more than 2000 participants from Europe and round the world. The congress brought together excellent speakers, experts from diverse backgrounds to lecture the latest advancements and challenges in internal medicine. Furthermore, I am delighted to announce the launch of EFIM's new clinical working groups. These groups, focusing on Diabetes and Obesity, Heart Failure, Infectious Diseases, and Acute Medicine, represent a significant step forward in our efforts to advance internal medicine, patient care and research. These new Clinical Working Groups will play a central role in shaping the future of internal medicine and will gather experts from all EFIM members’ societies.
In addition, I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to the new member societies that have joined EFIM in Istanbul: Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Federation of Royal Colleges of UK, Ukraine, Thi-Qar Society of Iraq and Peru.
We look forward to collaborating with each of you as we work towards our shared goals of advancing internal medicine across Europe and beyond.
Finally, we are already busy preparing for the next edition of ECIM 2025 in Florence, Italy from 5 – 8 March and we would like to meet with you once again to EFIM's unforgettable congress experience in 2025!

We are pleased to inform you that EFIM Critical Appraisal Working Group published the Heart Failure - EFIM guidelines critical appraisal and adaptation for internists!
We would like to congratulate all the Working Group members who worked hard to produce and publish the guidelines in our online journal, European Journal of Internal Medicine, EJIM.
