It is a great honour for me to address you for the first time as President of the European Federation of Internal Medicine (EFIM), following the success of ECIM 2025 in Florence.
The congress was a tremendous success, bringing together more than 2,200 participants from across Europe and beyond. It was inspiring to see internists from all stages of their careers engaging in dynamic discussions, exchanging knowledge, and networking during our congress.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all speakers, delegates, sponsors and organising teams who contributed to making ECIM 2025 a memorable and impactful congress.
We were also delighted to welcome six new members to the EFIM family from different countries across Europe and beyond, including three ordinary members and three associate members from Armenia, Turkey, UK, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand further strengthening EFIM and expanding our collaborative network.
EFIM continues to grow, and we are committed to advancing the field of Internal Medicine together.
As we look ahead, preparations are already underway for the next edition of the European Congress of Internal Medicine, ECIM 2026, which will take place in the beautiful city of Vienna. In parallel, we are excited to be organising the 10th EFIM Day, scheduled for 17 October in Brussels an important opportunity to connect, discuss, and shape our future directions with the leaders of EFIM national societies.
Meanwhile, EFIM Working Groups, Early Career, Young Internists Section and EFIM Academy remain actively engaged in developing new projects and continuing ongoing initiatives, ensuring that EFIM remains a hub for innovation, education, and collaboration in Internal Medicine.
I look forward to working with all of you during my presidency and to building on the strong foundation laid by my predecessors.
Together, we will continue building the impact of Internal Medicine in Europe.
