The article of Alexandre, Leo et al. [1] about the correlation of Iron Deficiency without Anemia (IDWA) with intestinal cancer was an interesting read. Essentially Iron Deficiency (ID) appears as a potential biomarker indicating or even mediating morphological alterations. However the findings of the study were not enough to establish a correlation of ID with a dire need of invasive investigation (endoscopy). We have encountered a similar pattern of ID implication in a study we are currently conducting.
