Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As we enjoy the summer season, I am pleased to reflect on what has already been achieved in the past months for EFIM.
In addition to the recent ECIM Congress in Florence in March, which was a resounding success, and the highly successful ESIM Summer School held for the first time in Alexandroupolis, Greece in June, with over 50 residents in attendance I am also proud to share the publication of the EFIM 2024 Annual Report
This report highlights EFIM achievements over the past year, including the continued growth of our activities, the development of impactful scientific initiatives, and new projects.
Looking ahead, we are excited to host the upcoming 10th EFIM Day, which will feature a keynote address by Dr. Garcia Burgos from the European Medicines Agency (EMA), a unique opportunity to hear and learn more about EMA's Role in the Approval of New Medicines, the process, challenges, and the Public Engagement and to meet the new EBIM President talking about EBIM’s upcoming projects, priorities and perspectives.
In line with our commitment to advancing science and education in internal medicine, we are launching two new Working Groups focused on Rare Diseases and Systemic Autoimmune Diseases under the leadership of Prof. Comarmond Ortoli, and Prof. François Maillot from the Frenchs Society of Internal Medicine. These important areas deserve dedicated attention, and we are confident that the new WGs will foster new collaboration, and education within EFIM community.
Lastly, I am delighted to announce that registrations and abstract submissions are now open for ECIM 2026 in Vienna!
The scientific programme is nearly complete, thanks to the tireless efforts of the Executive Committee and ECIM scientific members who worked intensively throughout the summer to prepare a high-level agenda.
I warmly encourage all of you to register early, submit your research, and join us in what promises to be another outstanding edition of our congress.
Wishing you all a restful and inspiring summer!
Warm regards,
Prof. George Dalekos
EFIM President
