Over the last decades, obesity has nearly tripled worldwide [1]. The current spread of obesity across sub-Saharan Africa and southeast Asia will end up with this condition becoming a global epidemic [2]. Sweeping changes in various lifestyle features spawned this outbreak. As a consequence, obese people carry the burden of augmented cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer [3].
