Prediabetes, a state with a higher chance of developing diabetes, is a condition characterized by elevated blood glucose levels above the normal range but below the diabetes threshold. As a result, prediabetics are more prone to developing diabetes. According to a statistical report from the World Health Organization [1], the number of diabetes patients has reached 314 million in 34 years. Furthermore, due to increased morbidity and mortality from diabetes, it has been projected that this disease will become the seventh leading cause of death by 2030.
