The growing availability of portable ultrasound equipment, associated with the rapidity of execution and the perceived benefit on diagnostic accuracy and time-to-diagnosis, has led to an exponential increase in the use of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in everyday practice. However, given the complexity of the impact of the rapid introduction of such a revolution at the patient's bedside, one cannot avoid highlighting which steps are still needed to formally establish the role of POCUS in patient management.
