The current issue of European Journal of Internal Medicine is dedicated to the topic of cannabis derived products use in contemporary pharmacopeia. Despite hundreds of years of experience with cannabis going back to the dawn of the humanity, the evidence on the safety and efficacy of medical cannabis remains scarce. Meticulously conducted observational studies and clinical trials started to appear in medical literature only recently, yet our patients frequently approach us with the question whether their medical condition can be treated with cannabis.
