COronaVIrus Disease 19 (COVID-19) pandemia and vaccination campaign showed a frail relationship between the scientific community, medical authorities, and citizens. This clearly emerged when unexpected thrombotic adverse effects have been described after the Vaxzevria vaccine administration and the European medicines regulatory agencies were forced to make a choice. As a matter of fact, some cases of unusual site venous thrombosis with thrombocytopenia occurred (mainly) in young women that received the Vaxzevria vaccine during the first half of March 2021.
