Macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) is a serious, life-threatening, complication, characterized by generalized, multisystem, inflammatory response, which can affect almost every organ system, resulting in multiple organ dysfunction [1]. Rheumatic diseases, infections, hematologic malignancies, and certain drug classes have been identified as potential triggers of MAS [1,2]. Interleukin (IL)−1β over-secretion provokes to cytokine storm, involving IL-6, IL-18 and interferon-γ, which contribute to multiple organ dysfunction [2].
