Recently a new paradigm, cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome, has been defined by the American Heart Association (AHA) as a health problem due to connections among diabetes, kidney disease, obesity, and cardiovascular disease (CVD), including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, coronary heart disease, stroke, and peripheral artery disease [1].
