Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are still frequent globally with a high mortality rate, even if the incidence has decreased since the 1980s in Europe, especially in Northern Europe [1], including a decline in incidence and mortality in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Sweden [2].
