Head-up tilt test (HUTT) is a useful diagnostic tool for patients with suspected reflex syncope after initial clinical assessment [1]. When using the Italian protocol, HUTT allows to confirm the diagnosis in 67.4 % of cases and to identify the main determinant of syncope [2,3]. The vasodepressor (VD) response is characterized by a fall in blood pressure (BP) without significant bradycardia (decrease in heart rate <10 % of the maximal heart rate) or with stable or slight increase in heart rate at the time of induced syncope [1–4].
