TESEO registry data indicate that breast cancer ranks third in cases of cancer-associated thrombosis [1]. This cannot be solely attributed to the prevalence of malignant breast pathology, as a study [2] analyzing >14,000 tumor samples identified mutations that increase the risk of thrombosis: STK11, KRAS, CTNNB1, KEAP1, MET, and CDKN2B.
