In the last years, we have observed an increase of clinicopathological knowledge and, therefore, a more accurate diagnosis of diseases. However, sometimes there are confused diagnoses without completely defined criteria as the mesenteric panniculitis (MP). The MP is characterized by chronic inflammation of mesenteric fat that has been associated to cancers, intra-abdominal surgery, ischemic heart disease or autoimmune diseases although its origin may be idiopathic [1].
