Palliative Care (PC) is a key component of patient-centred healthcare, focusing on relieving the symptoms, pain, dignity and stress of patients with serious, life-limiting conditions. A widely accepted definition describes palliative care as “the active holistic care of individuals of all ages who are experiencing serious health-related suffering due to severe illness, particularly those nearing the end of life. Its goal is to enhance the quality of life for patients, their families, and caregivers” [20].
