The 2014 Spring Meeting of the Society for Acute Medicine is for Physicians, Doctors in Training, AHP's, Pharmacists and all those involved in caring for patients with acute medical problems. The conference is being held at the Novotel in Amsterdam.
The ability of Acute Medicine to provide better and safer care to patients can, in part, be measured by its increasing international spread. Following our highly successful meeting with our Irish Acute Medical colleagues in Dublin in 2012, SAM's 2014 Spring Meeting will be held in Amsterdam, in association with the newly formed Dutch Acute Medicine Society (DAM). The programme will explore the challenges posed to all clinicians by complex and vulnerable patients presenting acutely, such as teenagers transitioning to adult care and the frail elderly, and showcase innovations and novel approaches from the UK, the Netherlands and beyond. There will also be an international research workshop for budding and established medical and nursing researchers prior to the meeting.
Our Dutch hosts are also busy planning social events that will provide not only an opportunity to meet international colleagues, but make the most of what Amsterdam has to offer.
