We read with great interest the article by Yang et al., published in the European Journal of Internal Medicine [1]. We appreciate their great work. In addition to the finding that JAK2-V617F-mutated essential thrombocythemia (ET) may cause postoperative epidural hematoma after lumbar spine surgery, we further found that JAK2-V617F-mutated ET is also closely related to the development of bone infarction. Therefore, our case also demonstrated that ET may not have been wholly incidental in terms of the cause of the bone infarction.
