Short sleep duration has a significant influence on individual health. Sleep duration can be affected by many factors, such as lifestyle, environmental factors, and sleep disorders (e.g., common manifestations including insomnia and sleep-disordered breathing) [1]. Short sleep duration is defined as less than or equal to 6 h. Several studies have demonstrated an association between short sleep duration or poor sleep quality and a high risk of developing cardiovascular or metabolic disorders [3–6].
