The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is one of the poorest countries in the world [1] and it is classified globally at the rank 176 out of 188 countries based on the 2016 Human Development Index [2]. It is estimated that 63% of the population in DRC lives on less than $1/day [2] and only 25% has access to health care structures [3].
