Klebsiella spp. are the third most common cause of bloodstream infections, only after Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, both in the community and nosocomial infections [1]. Usually arising from the urinary, gastrointestinal or respiratory tract, its mortality reaches 30 % [2].
