We read with great interest a recently published study by Luca Arcari, Giacomo Tini, Michela Zuccanti, et al. regarding clinical characteristics and outcomes of Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) [1]. In this article, Luca Arcari and his colleagues found that patients with COPD are characterized by higher rates of in-hospital complications, higher long-term mortality and recurrence. The conclusion which was drawn from the study is very interesting.
