Lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] is a plasma lipoprotein consisting of a cholesterol-rich LDL particle with one molecule of apolipoprotein B100 and an additional protein which has sequence homology with plasminogen, apolipoprotein(a) [Apo A], attached via disulfide bonds [1].
