Antimicrobial resistance is a global public health concern that threatens our ability to treat bacterial infections successfully [1]. Whereas antimicrobial optimization in the hospital was reported in the journal [2], the implications among patients above 65 years in the emergency department, internal medicine, other hospital wards and long-term care facilities require a specific update.
