We read with great interest the article by Florian Koutny and his colleagues, recently published in the European Journal of Internal Medicine [1]. In this article, Florian Koutny and his colleagues want to investigate whether there is an independent relationship between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and the educational level as a surrogate marker for socioeconomic status (SES). They found that a lower education level increases the risk of NAFLD independently of confounding factors by using multivariable logistic regression models and multivariable linear regression.
