Left ventricular thrombus (LVTh) is a rare but serious complication following ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) [1–4]. During the prethrombolytic era, LVTh was detected in up to 60% of patients [5,6]. However, the risk of developing this complication has decreased progressively in parallel with the implementation of emerging reperfusion strategies in STEMI [7].
