Hypertension remains a major problem worldwide, especially across the Asia-Pacific region. According to The NCD Risk Factor Collaboration, which analysed data from 1990 to 2019 on people aged 30–79 years from population-representative studies with measurement of blood pressure (BP) and BP treatment, several countries in the Asia-Pacific region report the highest prevalence rates of hypertension worldwide [1]. These include countries throughout central Asia and most countries in Oceania (excluding Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands).
