We read with great interest the article by Simon et al. entitled "Prediction of plasma sodium changes in the acutely ill patients: the potential role of tissue sodium content"[1]. The study focuses on biochemical and clinical factors that cause sodium accumulation in tissues, including total body water (TBW), initial plasma sodium levels, and changes. Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) and aldosterone's roles in sodium and water equilibrium are not fully examined. Studies show that these hormones regulate sodium and water balance, especially in critically ill patients [2].
