Recent reports on long COVID and disability [1,2] have shown the value of large, patient‑reported web surveys in capturing dimensions of illness that are poorly described in traditional clinical cohorts, including daily functioning and perceived quality of care. A similar approach was used in July 2025, in the context of the Italian health initiative “Il Tempo della Salute”, to explore how patients perceive communication with their physicians, with particular attention to listening, clarity of explanations and empathy.
