We were highly interested in the article by Trotta et al. regarding the use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for treating recurrent pericarditis (RP) [1]. The authors reported that HCQ significantly reduced recurrence and hospitalization rates while decreasing corticosteroid use, suggesting its potential steroid-sparing effect. While this study provides valuable preliminary data, several methodological issues warrant further exploration.
