Rheumatology is a special area of internal medicine engaged with the diagnosis and care of rheumatic, autoimmune and auto-inflammatory diseases (ARD) involving not only the muscles and the bones but also all organs. Among the organs involved, the lungs are of special interest due to different types of manifestation and their impact on morbidity and mortality. Pulmonary manifestations can often be the first symptoms of ARD and the differential diagnosis might be complicated. The causes and mechanisms remain still unknown [1].
