About the Heart Failure WG:

The EFIM Heart Failure Working Group was officially launched in June 2024, under the leadership of Professor Antonio Cittadini from the “Federico II” University of Naples. The group comprises members from 13 European countries, selected to bring a diverse and multidisciplinary perspective to heart failure management within internal medicine. Since its inception, the working group has convened 4 virtual meetings and 1 meeting in person during the 2025 european congress of internal medicine in Florence. On December 19th, 2024, the group organized a well-received international webinar titled “The Challenge of Congestion in Heart Failure”.

Currently, the working group started developing two collaborative position statements:

  • A joint statement with the EFIM Working Group on Infectious Diseases on the management of in- fections in heart failure.
  • A joint statement in collaboration with the EFIM Working Group on Multimorbidity, focused on integral palliative care for patients with end-stage chronic heart failure and multimorbidity.

These initiatives underscore the group’s commitment to advancing multidisciplinary approaches to heart failure care across Europe.
