The COVID-19 pandemic presents an unprecedented challenge to the capacity of health care systems and providers around the world. Now, more than ever, stewardship of limited resources is critical.
In response, a list of nine recommendations for the public and clinicians was developed to raise awareness about the need to use limited health care resources wisely.
In light of the latest developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current situation in Spain and all over Europe it has been decided to postpone the European Summer School of Internal Medicine, ESIM Summer 2020 to June 2021.
The school organisers together with the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine are working on confirming the new dates in June 2021. The School as officially communicated will take place in El Escorial, Madrid.
Further details will follow in the coming months.
Thank you for your understanding.
Due to health risks relating to the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the 6th McMaster Review Course in Internal Medicine and the 6th EFIM Day that were going to be held in Kraków, Poland, has been postponed to take place in autumn 2020.
Coronaviruses are important human and animal pathogens. Common human coronaviruses are responsible for approximately one-third of mild to moderate community-acquired upper respiratory tract infections in adults, like the common cold. This information should not be confused with Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). COVID-19 is the third coronavirus outbreak following the SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) outbreaks in the 21st century. COVID-19 is a type of illness that can mainly affect the respiratory system.
The world of internal medicine will gather on the 6th McMaster International Review Course in Internal Medicine, Kraków, Poland on May 7–9, 2020.
The 3-day EBM course features lectures delivered by outstanding experts, from authors of clinical practice guidelines to researchers behind the breakthrough trials that shape the modern standards in medicine. On the first day, May 7, participants will be able to choose from a number of clinical workshops as well as take part in the Best Case Report Contest. On May 8, in parallel to MIRCIM lectures, the EFIM Day will take place.
As already announced, the 6th EFIM Day will take place at the ICE Congress Centre in Krakow on Friday 8 May, 2020 in conjunction with the McMaster Course - MIRICIM 2020. We would like to extent an invitation to the Presidents, the Board Members and the Young Internists of EFIM National Societies to join EFIM in discussing different Internal Medicine’s topics on a European level including EFIM new projects and current activities.
