Dear Editor, malnutrition is a frequent but often overlooked condition among hospitalized older adults that substantially affects their prognosis [1,2]. Patients admitted to internal medicine wards are increasingly older, with those aged 65 years and more accounting for the majority of hospital admissions. These patients are characterised by multimorbidity and polypharmacy, clinical complexity and the risk of adverse health outcomes [3]. Although current international recommendations advocate systematic nutritional assessment using validated screening tools, implementation remains poorly incorporated into clinical practice [4].
