Preconception care (PCC) is defined by the World Health Organisation as a set of interventions that are to be provided, before pregnancy, to promote the health and well-being of women and couples, as well as to improve the pregnancy and child-health outcomes [1]. PCC offers the opportunity to counsel women regarding the risks of pregnancy, optimise physical health/disease activity, and counsel regarding appropriate medications in pregnancy and whilst breast feeding.
