We read with great interest the article by Hunt et al. entitled “Systemic markers of inflammation and immune activation in patients with obstructive sleep apnea and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation,” published in the European Journal of Internal Medicine[1]. The authors conducted a rigorous investigation into the inflammatory pathways linking obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and atrial fibrillation (AF), employing a longitudinal design with continuous rhythm monitoring and randomized CPAP intervention.
