The recent manuscript by Belhabib et al., presents an interesting and educational case of opportunistic infections associated with severe CD4+ lymphocytopenia, yet the central conclusion, that the patient had a short telomere syndrome (STS) responsible for the immunodeficiency, is not sufficiently supported by the data provided [1].
