Resting heart rate (HR) remains one of the most routinely recorded yet paradoxically underappreciated cardiovascular parameters in clinical practice. Easily obtainable and highly reproducible, it reflects autonomic nervous system activity and integrates multiple physiological and pathological influences [1]. The longstanding question, however, persists: is resting HR merely a risk marker or does it represent a modifiable risk factor influencing cardiovascular outcomes?
