A previously healthy 75-year-old woman presented with a 3-day history of fever (39.3°C), distal paresthesias and hypoesthesia of both feet, and abrupt onset of disseminated erythematous papules with violaceous umbilication involving the face, trunk and extremities (Fig. 1A-D). She denied recent infection, medication changes, vaccination or travel.
