We read with great interest the multicenter cohort study by Talerico et al. examining the association between Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status and clinical outcomes in patients with cancer-associated thrombosis treated with direct oral anticoagulants [1]. The authors should be commended for including patients with impaired Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG-PS), who remain underrepresented in randomized trials of anticoagulation for cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT) [2–4].
