When dealing with scientific evidence, the issue of reproducibility and replicability of scientific conclusions has been largely debated. In particular, several authors raised concerns about the significance of p value, that is the probability under a specified model that a statisticalsummary of the datawould be equal to or more extreme than its observed value. In the last years, different positions have emerged about the role of p value in statistical analysis. While a statement by the American Statistical Association (ASA) confirmed the status quo about p value [1], the Editors of Basic and Applied SocialPsychology radically proposed to ban it [2].
