A 65-year-old male presented with sudden onset of left hemiplegia for four hours, he was confused, blood pressure 158/109 mmHg, slightly delayed response, dysarthria, the muscle strength was 4/5 in the left upper limb and 5/5 in the right upper limb, and 3/5 in the lower extremities, respectively. His National Institute of Health Stroke Scale score was 11, and Glasgow Coma Scale score was 12. He completely recovered from ischemic stroke one year ago, and had a 40-year history of smoking and alcohol abuse, consuming an average of 150 ml per day of a Chinese spirit, Baijiu.
